What should I do if my toilet is not flushing properly?

If your toilet isn’t flushing, start with simple checks. Make sure the water supply valve is open and the tank has enough water. A worn flapper or misadjusted flush valve often causes weak or constant running flushes. Our plumbers repair flappers, adjust or replace flush valves, fix over/underfilling, reseat a leaking base seal, and secure loose toilets. We also inspect supply lines and advise on repair vs. replacement. 24/7 emergency help is available in Peru, Logansport, and Wabash.

Quick checks:

  • Open the shutoff valve fully.
  • Jiggle the handle once; then lift the tank lid and check the flapper seal.
  • Try a plunger if a clog is suspected.
